I made it! That was the theme of last weekend as I hitchhiked my way through northern Georgia. But it all turned out great and everything was well worth it!
I arrived in Atlanta on Friday and Sharise picked me up at the airport and we had dinner at Houston's together - Real Housewives style with some white wine. Then we headed to Madewell (a store J. Crew owns where I get my discount) and did a little shopping at the Lennox Mall. I had a great time seeing Sharise and reminiscing about our days at LSU Football together.
Then Sharise dropped me off at the team hotel in Duluth where I met Lance and my first leg of the trip was complete. I wish I had pictures. It was so nice to see Lance even though it was for less than 12 hours, but we had a fun time with all the LSU people and it felt like old times. I even got to see Coach Porter for a little bit.
Saturday morning I took the team equipment bus to Athens (Leg 2 of the trip...check!) to work for CBS. I finally got to see Craig Silver again and he gave me the task of being with Tracy Wolfson on the sidelines during the game. UNBELIEVABLE! The experience was great and I couldn't have asked for a better assignment. I got to see Coach Miles on the field before the game and caught up with him and then saw EVERYONE else on the sidelines. It was great!
You can't really tell, but this is me and Coach Miles
chatting on the field before the game.
So Tracy and I hung out on the sidelines together all game and I learned a lot about the whole process from her. She is such a nice person and I enjoyed working with here a lot. The game turned out great and after the last snap I had to rush the field with Tracy to get to Coach Miles. Everyone was so excited and jumping up and down and high-fiving and it was wonderful! It was by far one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. Then Tracy and I were escorted to the cars waiting to take us to Atlanta where I dropped off Craig and some others at the airport and then headed to my hotel.

Reporting from the sidelines.

It was a LONG weekend but one of the best I have ever had. I was proud of myself for planning the trip and getting everywhere in one piece. I got up early Sunday morning to head back to Houston for the Texans game (Leg 3 of the trip...done!).
I love when you read in magazines how celebrities talk about all the stuff they pack when they travel to make it feel like home - like scented candles and robes and pillows. Well, I packed for this entire trip in a North Face backpack. Very stylish I know.
Lance sent me some pictures from his iPhone to put up because I don't have an iPhone yet and couldn't bring my camera on the field. Hope y'all enjoy them and travel starts again tomorrow evening when I head to Baton Rouge for the LSU/FLA game.
