The Texans Win!

I flew in early Sunday morning from Atlanta and went straight to the Texans game. The Texans finally won at home...but don't get too terribly excited, because it was just against the Raiders.

Here is the fourth episode of the AFTER ACTION REPORT from Reliant Stadium with 1560 The Game.

Let me know what you think!

I'm off to work at J. Crew this evening and tomorrow morning...and then off to Baton Rouge to cover the LSU/FLA game with CBS. I am so excited for the game, however, I will be missing rollout at J. Crew on Thursday and Friday when we put out all the new clothes. Just a minor problem.

"It's Saturday afternoon in Athens!"

I made it! That was the theme of last weekend as I hitchhiked my way through northern Georgia. But it all turned out great and everything was well worth it!

I arrived in Atlanta on Friday and Sharise picked me up at the airport and we had dinner at Houston's together - Real Housewives style with some white wine. Then we headed to Madewell (a store J. Crew owns where I get my discount) and did a little shopping at the Lennox Mall. I had a great time seeing Sharise and reminiscing about our days at LSU Football together.

Then Sharise dropped me off at the team hotel in Duluth where I met Lance and my first leg of the trip was complete. I wish I had pictures. It was so nice to see Lance even though it was for less than 12 hours, but we had a fun time with all the LSU people and it felt like old times. I even got to see Coach Porter for a little bit.

Saturday morning I took the team equipment bus to Athens (Leg 2 of the trip...check!) to work for CBS. I finally got to see Craig Silver again and he gave me the task of being with Tracy Wolfson on the sidelines during the game. UNBELIEVABLE! The experience was great and I couldn't have asked for a better assignment. I got to see Coach Miles on the field before the game and caught up with him and then saw EVERYONE else on the sidelines. It was great!

You can't really tell, but this is me and Coach Miles
chatting on the field before the game.

So Tracy and I hung out on the sidelines together all game and I learned a lot about the whole process from her. She is such a nice person and I enjoyed working with here a lot. The game turned out great and after the last snap I had to rush the field with Tracy to get to Coach Miles. Everyone was so excited and jumping up and down and high-fiving and it was wonderful! It was by far one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. Then Tracy and I were escorted to the cars waiting to take us to Atlanta where I dropped off Craig and some others at the airport and then headed to my hotel.
Reporting from the sidelines.

It was a LONG weekend but one of the best I have ever had. I was proud of myself for planning the trip and getting everywhere in one piece. I got up early Sunday morning to head back to Houston for the Texans game (Leg 3 of the trip...done!).

I love when you read in magazines how celebrities talk about all the stuff they pack when they travel to make it feel like home - like scented candles and robes and pillows. Well, I packed for this entire trip in a North Face backpack. Very stylish I know.

Lance sent me some pictures from his iPhone to put up because I don't have an iPhone yet and couldn't bring my camera on the field. Hope y'all enjoy them and travel starts again tomorrow evening when I head to Baton Rouge for the LSU/FLA game.

Hanging out at Reliant

Another Sunday means another day of NFL Football and the Houston Texans still can't seem to pull it together. However, I still enjoyed myself at the game - ate some pretty good press box food, hung out with some fun people and filmed another episode of the After Action Report. Check it out below!

But more importantly, the SAINTS looked great again and make Sunday fun with the wins.

Thanks for tuning in again and let me know what you think! I'm leaving Friday afternoon for Atlanta and coming back in time for the Texans vs. Raiders game at noon on Sunday. JaMarcus comes to H-Town!

Also, I am going to try and get some more read of "Moneyball" so I can finally move on to another book. The Twilight series captured me so much that I miss the teenybopper writing...and the big font that made me feel like I read a ton of pages in one sitting.

So you graduated, do you have a job?

I LOVE this question...and now I actually have an answer, but it is still a long explanation. So, I have decided to start a blog to keep my friends and family updated on the hodgepodge of jobs I have these days.

A lot has changed since I moved back to The Woodlands, and now I am finally getting into a routine that I am really enjoying. I miss Baton Rouge a lot, but I am getting a lot of experience over here in Houston.

I have always said I wanted to travel whenever I get a job. Well, I guess you can travel for a job whenever you pay for it yourself (thanks Mom and Dad!). I am working some games for CBS Sports this football season and am traveling across the SEC to meet them. First up is Athens next week for the LSU/UGA game. I am very excited to do this and thanks to some GREAT friends, I finally have all the details figured out. After Georgia, I will be in Baton Rouge the majority of the week for the LSU/FLA game...my most favorite game!

I am also working downtown with 1560 The Game and doing a post game show from the Texans home games. It's called the "After Action Report", and here is a link to our first show:

Working with the guys is sooo much fun and I am glad that I get this broadcast experience.

Now for the job where I actually make money - I work at J. Crew here in The Woodlands and I absolutely love it. I don't know if I actually make money because I do buy some clothes (imagine that!), but I love the people I work with and it is keeping me busy and well styled.

Lastly for this entry, my parents got me the two best little puppies ever. They make me so happy and I have them to come home to and hang out with during the day when I am not at work. Everyone who knows me well knows I have been wanting Chuy for a long, long time...well I got a Chuy and a Gracie and they are bad but so sweet and fun. They are the best gift I have gotten!

Summertime

So I had a lot of free time this summer with being unemployed and all, so here are some highlights. The BEST part was getting to see all my nephews together for the first time. And at one point we had all five Villere kids with all four nephews...I hope this happens again very soon!

Nick Gilligan and me at a Yankees game in the Bronx.
He MADE me wear the hat...still a Mets girl at heart.

Andrew being messy at breakfast.

Lance and Grant doing funny faces on the way to bowling.

Getting ready to head to Minute Maid for the Mets/Astros game.

Grant and William with little Beckett out at the pool.

All four of the nephews.

Lance and me at the George Strait concert in Houston.
